Rebates for qualifying energy-efficient window and door upgrades when program rules are met.

- $100 per rough opening
- What qualifies
- Each structurally stable opening in an exterior wall for a window or door. Doors (including sliding patio doors and skylights) qualify at the same rate.
- Household cap
- Up to $5,000 lifetime under the program (combined with other qualifying upgrades).
Bonus opportunities
- Home energy assessment: up to $600 reimbursement.

Minimum requirements (windows & doors count as one qualified measure only if thresholds are met)
- Minimum 3 window rough openings, OR
- 1 door, sliding door, or skylight rough opening.
Replacing fewer than 3 windows alone will not qualify for the rebate.
Who may qualify

- You install ENERGY STAR certified windows and doors for the Canadian climate zone.
- You use a licensed, insured professional contractor for installation. DIY installations do not qualify.
- You complete the work before November 30, 2026 (post-audit must be scheduled by this date).
Ineligible situations
Most multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs), stacked townhomes, condos where the board pays utilities, or new builds are ineligible. Homes with secondary suites may qualify under specific rules.
Income-qualified options
Income-qualified households may qualify for free insulation and draft-proofing upgrades through the Home Winterproofing Program — ask us for details.
Start the assessment before purchasing or installing windows or doors. Work cannot begin until you are registered.
